Bridgeland, Houston’s fastest-growing master planned community from the Howard Hughes portfolio, is pleased to announce the upcoming addition of nearly 40 acres of parks, green space, and recreational areas. Throughout Bridgeland, these thoughtfully designed natural ecosystems will help revitalize habitats and enrich biodiversity, attracting an estimated 300 migratory bird species to the community. At the same time, they will create additional opportunities for lifestyle amenities that residents can enjoy throughout the seasons.

“A core element of our long-term approach to sustainable master planning is considering how each design decision will impact and improve our residents’ quality of life,” said Steve Sams, Senior Vice President, MPC Residential, Howard Hughes. “By dedicating 28% of Bridgeland’s master plan to parks and greenspace, we’re creating spaces that enhance resident health and well-being, ensuring Bridgeland remains a thriving community for generations to come.”

Terrapin Park at Creekland Village

Creekland Village, the fourth village in Bridgeland’s master plan which will add approximately 3,000 new homesites to the community, is at the forefront of these exciting new developments, with the introduction of the 14-acre Terrapin Park. Designed to prioritize resident connectivity, health and wellness, Terrapin Park will feature a community center capable of hosting events for up to 160 people, along with state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor fitness facilities. The center will also include two pools, two pavilions with an outdoor kitchen and grills, and a variety of recreational amenities, including basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts. The serene sanctuary of Terrapin Park will be defined by its location along the banks of the riparian greenbelt system, offering residents a natural retreat. This will be Bridgeland’s fourth village park and construction will commence in April, with completion scheduled for next summer.

Turtle Cove, Lily Pad Park, and Mosaic Park at Creekland Village

Centrally located in Creekland Village, Turtle Cove will feature nearly 16 acres of natural landscaping along a carefully designed riparian corridor, playing a vital role in stormwater conveyance and improving both air and water quality. Lily Pad Park will be situated at its crescent, serving as the village’s first large gathering space, with a 50-seat pavilion planned for the site. The park will also include a dog run, a half-basketball court, and a playground, all surrounded by reforested trees. Just under one mile from Turtle Cove and Lily Pad Park, Creekland residents will soon enjoy access to Mosaic Park, featuring a tiered pavilion and playground surrounded by trees and a garden. These additions are part of Bridgeland’s master plan, which ensures that each resident will be within a quarter mile of a park or green space. Mosaic Park is scheduled to open this spring, with Turtle Cove and Lily Pad Park scheduled to open this fall.
