McEachern has 33 years of experience in education, including 19 as an athletic director. His coaching and teaching career began at Godley High School in 1992, where he served two years as an assistant coach before joining Whitney High School as head baseball coach and assistant football coach from 1994-1998. He also served as Whitney’s interim athletic director in 1997.

He joined Academy High School in Little River from 1998-2003, serving as head baseball coach and defensive coordinator for the football team. He joined Huffman-Hargrave High School in 2003, serving three years as head baseball coach and special teams coordinator for the football team before being named athletic director and head football coach. He amassed a 104-69 record in 16 years as head football coach, making 13 playoff appearances.

In 2022, McEachern was named athletic director at Pflugerville ISD, serving two years before taking over as Humble ISD athletic director in 2024. In his one year with Humble, his programs played for six state championships and won four (cheer, girls’ basketball, baseball and softball).

McEachern earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Wesleyan University and his Master in Education Administration from Lamar University.

“I’m extremely excited about this opportunity. Cy-Fair ISD is the pinnacle of districts to work in, and I hope to continue the success of the predecessors before me,” McEachern said. “I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with district and campus administration, coaches and staff.”
