Aristoi choir students excel at TMEA competitions and upcoming performances

By  |

The following singers competed at the Region level of the TMEA competition in Sealy, TX. TMEA, or the Texas Music Educators Association, holds a prestigious contest each year that allows students to compete against the top singers in the state for the opportunity to perform for an international audience in San Antonio at their annual convention each February.

Students prepare a selection of music and then sing it as a solo to blind judges, who rank the singers in order. The contest is open to all students—from private schools to the largest ISDs—making the competition fierce.

This year’s Aristoi competitors and rankings were:

Bass:

Nathaniel B – 18

Edison B – 22

Alto:

Chimamanda O – 54

Annelise P – 30

Nellie B – 33

Gabriella H – 1

Families across Aristoi frequently speak to the impact of the school’s choir program. Aristoi parent Barbara Havlik shared how transformative the experience has been for her daughter, saying, “Before joining choir, we had no idea our daughter could sing. Since then, we’ve watched her grow in confidence, maturity, and musical ability. Aristoi’s choir program gives students something good, true, and beautiful to carry with them for life.”

In addition to their competition accomplishments, the Aristoi Bellatrices Choir was invited to perform by Precinct 4 County Commissioner Leslie Briones at a Town Hall event at Legacy Stadium on October 18, 2025. The choir represented Aristoi beautifully, sharing their music with the community and helping open the event with excellence and grace.

Looking ahead, the Aristoi Choir Program has several exciting events on the calendar:

Winter Concert: December 10, 2025, at 6:30 PM in the Griffin Center

Solo Concert Series Competition: January 23, 2026, in the Griffin Center

The Solo Concert Series serves as Aristoi’s Region-level Solo and Ensemble Competition. Winners from this event will advance to represent Aristoi at the State TSCAAL Fine Arts Festival at the Texas State Capitol in Austin on February 21, 2026.

We are incredibly proud of our singers for their dedication, artistry, and the way they continue to reflect Aristoi’s pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty through music.
