CFISD names new principal for Goodson Middle School
Lynn Blakeslee, associate principal at Jersey Village High School, was named the principal at Goodson Middle School on Dec. 17. Blakeslee replaces Richard Dixon, who was named the principal at Bridgeland High School on Nov. 8.
Blakeslee has 29 years of experience in education, with 25 being in CFISD. She started her career as a Biology teacher and assistant basketball coach in Tyler ISD and Bryan ISD. She joined CFISD in 2000 as a teacher and coach at Cypress Springs High School, where she was later named the head girls’ basketball coach for the Panthers. Blakeslee then moved to Cook Middle School, serving as an assistant principal before moving to Cypress Woods High School to serve in the same role. She was named to her current role at Jersey Village in 2020.
Blakeslee holds multiple certifications, including her Principal Certificate.
Blakeslee earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of Houston – Clear Lake and her Master of Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to be named the next principal of Goodson Middle School,” Blakeslee said. “I look forward to connecting with the Grizzly staff, students and community, building strong relationships and working together to continue the school’s proud tradition of excellence.”
