Tips for Touring the Lights
Whether you’re a local resident or visiting friends and family, here’s how to get the most out of your Prestonwood Christmas Lights tour:
Best Times to Visit
Lights typically come on around 6:00 PM and stay lit until 10:00 PM on weekdays and 11:00 PM on weekends. Perfect timing for an evening drive with hot cocoa and holiday music!
Where to Start
Begin your journey at one of the neighborhood’s main entrances:
- Prestonwood Forest Drive near Highway 249
- Cypresswood Drive entrance
- Schroeder Road entrance
These make excellent starting points for seeing both familiar favorites and award-winning displays.
Tour Strategy
Many visitors recommend making only right turns when driving through the subdivision to avoid backtracking and to ensure you see every beautifully decorated street. It is important to note there is NO street parking allowed.
Capture the Magic
Don’t forget your camera! Guests are invited to share their favorite photos from the ‘Nite of Lites’ to be featured in the official community gallery.

From classic lighted houses to creative themed blocks, Prestonwood Forest continues to be one of Houston’s must-see holiday light destinations. Gather your family, bundle up with blankets and cocoa, and experience the wonder of the season at ‘Nite of Lights’!
