CFISD names new principal for Aragon Middle School
Johnathan Heefner, assistant principal at Cypress Ranch High School, was named the principal of Aragon Middle School on Oct. 7. Heefner replaces Dirk Heath, who was recently named principal of Cy-Fair High School.
Heefner is in his 15th year in education, with all his experience being in CFISD. He began his career in 2009 as a classroom teacher at Fiest Elementary School. He later went to Smith Middle School and served as a classroom teacher and coach before he was promoted to assistant principal in 2017.
Heefner served as assistant principal at Smith for four years before moving to his current position in 2021.
Heefner earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Concordia University Texas and his Master of Education Administration from Texas A&M Commerce.
“I am deeply humbled to serve as principal of Aragon Middle School,” Heefner said. “To support such a dynamic community of educators, students and families is an honor and privilege. Together we will continue to nurture the rich traditions and culture of excellence that make Aragon a great destination to teach, learn and lead. Go Wildcats!”
