Cy-Fair Fire Department Promotes Daniel Anderson to Deputy Chief of Professional Standards
The Cy-Fair Fire Department (CFFD) is proud to announce the promotion of Battalion Chief Daniel Anderson to the position of deputy chief of professional standards. Deputy Chief Anderson was selected from a pool of exceptional internal candidates and strong external applicants. His promotion following this highly competitive process reflects the department’s confidence in his leadership, judgment, and unwavering commitment to professionalism and integrity.
In addition to his operational experience, Deputy Chief Anderson is a certified public manager, a fire service chief executive officer (FSCEO), and an inaugural graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Managing Officer Program. These qualifications demonstrate his focus on accountability, continuous improvement, and high standards of service, and uniquely position him to support the department’s future growth.
Deputy Chief Anderson will continue serving in his current role as battalion chief until a battalion chief of fire training is hired, ensuring continuity of leadership during the transition. In his new role, he will oversee the department’s promotional processes, internal investigations, and the development and review of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standard operating guidelines (SOGs). His work will help ensure departmental standards remain clear, consistent, and aligned with industry best practices.
“Deputy Chief Anderson has earned the respect of this department through his work ethic, integrity, and steady leadership,” says CFFD Assistant Chief of Administration Mike Clements. “He will be instrumental in strengthening our processes and supporting the department’s continued growth.”
