Expectant mothers looking for a safe, supportive place to welcome their baby are finding comfort close to home at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital, where a focus on personalized, family-centered maternity care is drawing regional attention.
The Houston Methodist Childbirth Center at Cypress offers a fully integrated experience. From prenatal care to labor, delivery, postpartum recovery and newborn support, the childbirth center is designed to give parents peace of mind and a voice in their care.
At the heart of the center’s approach is a commitment to individualized care. Every mother is paired with a dedicated labor and delivery nurse, who remains by her side throughout the birthing process. A neonatal nurse also attends every delivery, ensuring babies receive immediate, specialized care the moment they arrive.
Inside the center, families labor, deliver and recover together in spacious birthing suites before transitioning to private postpartum rooms. The environment is intentionally designed to feel calm, prepared and supportive, blending advanced medical technology with thoughtful amenities.

For many expectant mothers, these offerings provide something priceless: the reassurance that their birth experience will be both medically exceptional and deeply personal.
For one local family, their third pregnancy took a surprising turn when they discovered they were expecting twins. Following their longtime obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Benisha Wiltz-Kargou, to the
Houston Methodist Childbirth Center at Cypress, the Galladora family quickly felt supported thanks to the advanced, supportive care the facility offered during their high-risk pregnancy.
“When I first learned I was having twins, I was completely shocked,” Madison Jones, mother of the Galladora twins said. “Dr. Wiltz-Kargou was very open about all the possible outcomes — such as the potential need for a C-section, smaller birth weights or possible NICU time. Thankfully, none of that happened.”
At just over 37 weeks, Jones was induced with hopes of a natural delivery. Dr. Wiltz-Kargou and her team prepared for every scenario, ultimately honoring Jones’ birth plan by conducting a natural delivery in the operating room to ensure optimal safety for both babies – and marking the center’s very first natural twin delivery.

“They had a TV monitor so that once the babies were delivered, I could still see them at the warmers,” Jones said. “That was really special.”
Following birth, the twins were moved into the center’s specialized suite designed specifically for multiple-birth families — two connected rooms separated by a sliding door, allowing seamless access for both family and care teams.
Jones shared that the exceptional care extended far beyond the clinical support provided to her newborns.
“Everyone we encountered was incredibly supportive — whether it was bringing us drinks and snacks, talking us through things or helping us hold a baby,” Jones said. “The team was hands on, communicative and always one step ahead in answering our questions.”
Wiltz-Kargou emphasized that this experience reflects the level of care families can expect at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital.
“The natural delivery of healthy twins at 37 weeks reflects the exceptional level of obstetric care, from conception to birth, we’re committed to providing,” Wiltz-Kargou said. “It was an honor to deliver this patient’s twins, having also delivered her two older children. Assisting with a safe vaginal twin delivery made the experience especially memorable. Our state-of-the-art facility is designed to support all types of deliveries, enabling our team to combine advanced technology with the compassionate, patient-centered approach while empowering women to take control of their health. We are honored to care for families in this community and proud to help welcome new life into the world.”
