CFISD names new principal for Willbern Elementary School

Stephanie Hakemack, assistant principal at Willbern Elementary School, was named the principal of Willbern on May 12. Hakemack replaces Connye Roberson, who will retire at the end of the school year.

Hakemack has 24 years of experience in education, all of which have been in CFISD. She began her career in 2001 as a classroom teacher at Lamkin Elementary School. She went to Arnold Middle School as a classroom teacher in 2007 and later transferred to Smith Middle School in 2009.

In 2015, she became an instructional specialist at Willbern and was later named campus testing and Title 1 coordinator in 2017. After serving in the role for three years, she was promoted to her current position as assistant principal in 2020.

Hakemack earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2001 and her Master of Elementary Education in 2005 from Sam Houston State University.

“I am proud and honored to be selected as the new principal for Willbern Elementary,” Hakemack said. “Willbern has been my home for the past ten years and I look forward to continuing to serve our amazing school community to ensure that all students meet their potential and know they are valued and supported.”
