LSC-CyFair Drama Department Celebrates Astronomer Henrietta Leavitt’s Life Story
Lone Star College-CyFair’s Drama Department brings the riveting true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt and her ground-breaking work in the scientific world to life in “Silent Sky” Nov. 13-15.

With a blend of humor and romance, Lauren Gunderson’s play explores a woman’s place in society during a time of immense scientific discoveries, when women’s ideas were dismissed until men claimed credit for them. Join Henrietta at the Harvard Observatory as she tries to balance her dedication to science with family obligations and the possibility of love.
Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday with a 2:30 p.m. Saturday matinee in the Main Stage Theatre. For tickets and information, go to LoneStar.edu/Boxoffice.
Get details for more evenings of entertainment coming soon in the Main Stage Theatre – a Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra concert Nov. 21, a Percussion Ensemble and Composers Club concert Dec. 2, and a choral concert Dec. 5 – at LoneStar.edu/CFA.
