62nd Annual Bluebonnet Festival Returns to Chappell Hill This April
Spring in Texas means bluebonnets, and one of the state’s most beloved celebrations is returning for another unforgettable weekend. The Chappell Hill Historical Society will once again host the 62nd Annual “Official State of Texas Bluebonnet Festival” on April 11–12, 2026, in historic downtown Chappell Hill.
Held along Main Street and the Poplar Lot off Poplar Street, the festival has grown from a small-town antique show into one of Texas’ premier spring events. Today, it celebrates the state flower—the iconic bluebonnet—while showcasing the charm, history, and hospitality of the local community.
Each year, thousands of visitors travel to Washington County to experience the breathtaking bluebonnet blooms and scenic countryside that define this time of year. The festival itself draws crowds from across Texas, offering a lively, family-friendly atmosphere filled with activities for all ages.
Attendees can enjoy live music throughout the weekend, browse hundreds of juried arts and crafts vendors, and explore a variety of food and entertainment options. Whether you’re shopping for unique handmade goods or simply soaking in the festive energy, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Conveniently located between Austin and Houston along Highway 290, Chappell Hill is known for hosting one of the largest festivals in the state while also preserving its rich history. The event supports the ongoing preservation of historic buildings in the area, including a nationally recognized museum that once served as the town’s schoolhouse.
For those looking to experience a true Texas spring tradition, the Bluebonnet Festival in Chappell Hill offers the perfect blend of natural beauty, history, and small-town charm.
