CFISD Superintendent Welcomes Students Back for the 2026-27 School Year
Welcome back! We are excited to begin another school year in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and look forward to welcoming students back to our campuses.
Last year, we invited our community to Choose the Path to Amazing, and we are continuing with that theme in 2026-27 as we feel that CFISD offers the best choice among all the available educational options.
This summer, we celebrated our nation’s 250th birthday, a celebration we can continue to highlight all year. America’s founding fathers believed that the preservation of democracy was dependent upon an educated population, and leaders like Thomas Jefferson and John Adams advocated for publicly funded schools. Their legacy carries forward to today, as CFISD helps shape a stronger nation by preparing the next generation of leaders, innovators and citizens. Every lesson taught, every relationship built and every student achievement contributes far beyond the classroom.
We have much to celebrate as we begin this school year. Our students continue to excel academically, artistically and athletically because of the dedication of our teachers, staff and families. Every day, our employees go above and beyond to provide exceptional learning experiences that prepare students for college, careers, military service and life.
First and foremost, we want to keep our students safe.
Earlier this summer, we shared important information regarding the increased use of electric bicycles, scooters and other motorized mobility devices by students. As these devices become more common, we ask every family to review the safety expectations outlined in this letter. Working together with parents, students and local law enforcement, we can help ensure every child arrives at school and returns home safely each day.
In this spirit, we ask everyone to remain patient and alert during the first couple weeks of school. Traffic around campuses will increase during arrival and dismissal. Please allow extra travel time, obey school zone speed limits, watch for crossing guards and buses and remain attentive to students who are walking, riding bicycles or using electric bikes and scooters.
We can’t wait to welcome students back through our doors on the first day of school, Aug. 12. Thank you for choosing CFISD, and for setting the tone for the next 250 years of a proud nation that values quality public education.
