Cook Middle School student makes U.S. Archery Team

Cook Middle School eighth grade student Jia Sanja was named to the 2026 United States Archery Team (USAT) in the Female Recurve U15 division. 

The USAT consists of the top-ranked male and female recurve, compound, barebow and fixed-pin archers in the country. Archers earn ranking points based on their performance at USAT national tournaments.

“From my first shot with a plastic bow on hay bale to representing the U.S. Archery Team, my journey has been incredible,” Sanja said. “Archery has shown me that when you aim with focus, confidence and passion, you can hit any goal you set your sights on.”

Sanja was also the Intermediate Female Recurve champion for the 2026 Houston Livestock and Rodeo Archery competition.
