Eat Local: Krab Kingz Cypress Serves Up Bold Cajun Flavor

By  |

Krab Kingz Cypress is proudly owned by Zee and Ak Harrison. The couple currently operates one location in Cypress, TX. Zee and Ak have received an outpouring of love and support from the community, and while expansion is on the horizon, they are approaching it thoughtfully.

Zee shares, “We live here. This is our community. We saw a need for flavorful seafood and a space where people could relax and enjoy good food in a fun, inclusive environment. Opening in Cypress was personal and it’s where we’re rooted.”

THE NAME:

Krab Kingz is part of a franchise founded by Brandon Martin, a military veteran who started the concept in his garage in Florida. The brand was built on bold seafood flavors and a commitment to top-tier customer service are values Zee is proud to continue at their Cypress location.

THE VIBE:

At Krab Kingz, they “sea”food differently. They serve Cajun-style seafood with a unique twist, offering a wide range of bold, garlic butter flavors. The vibe is laid-back and family-friendly, with great music, a diverse crowd, and a come-as-you-are energy. It’s the kind of place where you can eat, laugh, and vibe all in one sitting, all in one place.

THE INSPIRATION:

All Krab Kingz locations are known for their signature garlic butters, and at the Cypress location, they’re offered in multiple flavor variations. From Honey Garlic topper, and a few in between, their sauce choices are what make them stand out.

Zee and Ak started as loyal customers, driving from Cypress to Houston every weekend just to enjoy the original Krab Kingz. After connecting with the founder and understanding the brand’s vision, they knew they wanted to bring that experience home. Zee launched their food truck in 2019 and transitioned to a restaurant in 2021.

Zee’s journey into food service began in the United States Air Force, where she managed military dining facilities. That experience taught her structure, teamwork, and how to execute large-scale operations all of which now play a role in how she runs Krab Kingz. A true foodie who also loves systems and processes, the path felt like a perfect fit.

“We stand by this: our prices are already some of the best around. We don’t need to run constant deals — our everyday prices speak for themselves.”

THE CRAWFISH:

What sets their crawfish apart? Zee says, “SOAKED, NEVER SPRINKLED — we ‘sea’food differently.”
Their crawfish are cleaned properly, boiled fresh, and seasoned in-house. They’re never frozen, pre-packaged, or pre-cooked. Once the season ends, they stop serving it — no frozen leftovers, no shortcuts, just real, bold flavor.
Krab Kingz Cypress serves crawfish only during crawfish season, typically from January through June.

Signature Sauces:

  • Original Garlic Butter: Rich and buttery with savory herbs and spices.
  • Lemon Pepper: Bright, zesty, and addicting.
  • Cajun: Garlicky with a balanced kick of Cajun heat.
  • Honey Garlic: Smooth, mellow, and lightly sweet.
  • King Me: The ultimate everything sauce — buttery, garlicky, sweet, spicy, and unforgettable.

One of their biggest annual events is Mother’s Day “All You Can Eat Krawfish.” The house stays packed every time.

THE OWNER’S FAVORITE MEAL:

Zee: “My perfect meal? The Deluxe Pasta — no question — with a boiled lobster tail and 2 lbs of krawfish. I’ll pair it with a glass of Moscato or a Strawberry Mango Daiquiri, depending on, how I’m feeling. It gets me every time.”
