Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital Welcomes First Baby

The Houston Methodist Childbirth Center at Cypress Hospital welcomed its first newborn on Monday, March 17, at 5:07 p.m. 

Baby Tatum was born to Gervase and Terron Ware, weighing 6 pounds, 14 ounces and 19.59” long. They are excited to be the proud parents of the first baby born in the hospital, and Baby Tatum headed home this week to join his five other siblings. 

The Houston Methodist Childbirth Center at Cypress Hospital opened on Monday, March 17. It features 21 rooms with eight neonatal ICU rooms.  

“We are excited to offer unparalleled care to the Cypress community, giving moms and their newborns a childbirth center experience that combines the highest standards of care with cutting edge technology,” Mary Anne Phillips, director of the childbirth center, said.
