Bridgeland HS student wins Celebrate Texas Public Schools scholarship

By  |

Bridgeland High School senior Linley Adams was awarded the 2025-26 Celebrate Texas Public Schools scholarship at the Friends of Texas Public Schools (FOTPS) Friend of the Year Dinner on Nov. 12 at McLane Stadium in Waco.

Awarded to graduating seniors, the $2,500 scholarship aims to highlight the “Great Things Happening in Texas Public Schools” from the student’s perspective. Applicants were asked to prepare a video showing how public school education has impacted their lives or career choices and prepared them to meet future goals. The scholarship was awarded in partnership with the Texas School Public Relations Association and We Go Public.

Adams has led more than 300 Bridgeland band members and 75 color guard students as a drum major for two years. She is an active member of the Bridgeland National Honor Society (NHS), as well as the Science NHS and Math NHS. She carries a 6.75 GPA and is currently ranked 41st in her graduating class.

“What a privilege and honor it was to be able to accept the Celebrate Texas Public Schools scholarship,” Adams said. “I am so thankful for the opportunities Bridgeland High School has given me to succeed, and am proud to represent Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.”
