Cy-Fair Helping Hands hosts successful Back to School Bash for Cy-Fair ISD students in need
Cy-Fair Helping Hands is proud to announce the success of its 4th Annual Back to School Bash, held Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Calvary Community Church. This exciting carnival- inspired event filled with fun games and activities for the students and their families not only provided school supplies, backpacks, resources, and age-appropriate school clothing to Cypress- Fairbanks ISD students with financial need, but it also brought together the heart of the community, ensuring that every child could begin the school year prepared and confident.

This year’s Bash was more than just about supplies—it was about connection, encouragement, and support. Families enjoyed a welcoming environment filled with smiles, encouragement, and a sense of belonging, as volunteers, donors, and community partners came together to make a tangible difference in the lives of local students.
“The Back to School Bash is one of our favorite events of the year because it demonstrates what happens when our amazing volunteers and our generous Cy-Fair community come together,” explains Director of Community Outreach, Pat Hudson. “The whole experience is so special and truly so fun! The smiles on the children’s faces remind us all why we do this work. A time of pure happiness,” adds Executive Director Janet Ryan.
“Cy-Fair Helping Hands extends its deepest gratitude to the generous donors whose financial contributions and in-kind gifts made it possible to serve so many children. We also thank the volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to fill backpacks, set-up, greet families, distribute supplies, and make each child feel special. We are especially grateful to Muriel Kruger, our Backpack Coordinator, and to our B2SB team that made everything happen! Finally, we extend our appreciation to the community participants and partners who helped create a fun, supportive atmosphere that turned this distribution event into a true celebration.
To put it all in perspective, 120 community partners, including 11 churches, delighted the children with 33 carnival booths and exhibits, and 75 volunteers registered guests, assisted with clothing selection, distributed backpacks, managed parking, shuttles, food service and clean-up. Thanks to this collective effort, 2,302 Cy- Fair ISD students now have the tools they need for a successful school year—and the knowledge that their community believes in them,” concludes Hudson.
