The Bobcats finished 12th overall.

“Our band students always inspire me when they rise to a challenge,” said John Nelson, Cy-Fair head band director. “Two hundred and sixty-seven young people with goals, skills and passion are truly a wonderful thing to witness!”

In all, CFISD was represented by Cy-Fair, Bridgeland and Cypress Woods high schools at this year’s state marching contest. The same trio of bands has advanced to the state level the last four years.

All three CFISD bands performed their respective shows and joined 38 other Class 6A bands from across the state during the preliminary round of competition on Nov. 3.

The 2025 state contest marks the sixth consecutive state bid for both Bridgeland and Cypress Woods and the seventh overall appearance for the Cypress Woods program. Cy-Fair advanced to state for the ninth time in program history and the fourth consecutive year.
