Eat Local: The Story Behind Andy’s Kitchen, From Food Truck to Cypress Favorite

Andy’s Kitchen, located in Cypress, TX, is a local favorite eatery renowned for its extensive menu of gourmet burgers, as well as sandwiches, wings, and more. 

Owner Andy Correa grew up in the restaurant industry, working alongside his family from the age of 13. Andy discovered the joy of serving guests, creating memorable meals, and making every customer feel like part of the extended family. These experiences shaped his passion for hospitality and inspired a career dedicated to build his restaurants that brings people and community together. 

Over the past decade, Andy has grown from a food truck operator to the owner of multiple successful establishments in Cypress, Texas. His ventures started with Andy’s Mobile Kitchen (2014) and then  Andy’s Kitchen (2018) voted “Best Burger in Cypress”, and Andy’s Bar & Grill (2022) which is known for its lively mix of great food, live music, karaoke, and a sports-bar atmosphere, Andy’s Bar & Grill has become a community favorite.

THE NAME:

Andy and his wife, Kristi, own and operate the four concepts together. I am sure you have figured out where all the names came from. Andy’s Kitchen and all of his menus reflect his diverse culinary background and family heritage. With Sicilian-American roots and years of experience in his parents’ South American grill, he blends flavors and traditions ranging from Italian classics to burgers, barbecue, and American comfort food. His restaurants and catering services celebrate their creativity, quality, and a warm neighborhood feel.

THE VIBE:

Andy’s Kitchen is a small home-style shop, with vintage signs and posters everywhere. Small hometown American feel. 

THE INSPIRATION:

Andy was born and raised in Cypress, so he felt that he had to stay and open in his hometown. Everything is made with love, no shortcuts, with the best quality he can find, from the spices to the mop sauce.

THE GOODS:

What makes the burgers special? Andy ensures that everything is made with their signature spices and finished over an open flame. The real backyard picnic taste.

THE OWNERS / CHEF’S FAVORITE MEAL:

I would start with Fried Mushrooms, and a glass of Sweet Iced Tea. Followed by a Cowboy burger, an oz patty cooked to your taste, topped with cheddar cheese, smoked sausage, pickles, and onions. Dessert, I am heading straight for a slice of Carrot Cake.

WHAT THE LOCALS ARE ORDERING:

Starters: Fried Pickles – Hand-battered and fried served with homemade ranch

Burgers: Cowboy Burger: 9oz patty cooked to your taste topped with cheddar cheese smoked sausage with pickles and onions

Wacky Burger – Hand-smashed patty, topped with pulled pork, Cheddar cheese, BBQ Sauce, onion, and pickles.

Sandwiches: Angry Bird – Topped with bacon, American cheese, grilled jalapeños, and onion. 

Lighter Side: Grilled Chicken Bowl

Lemon Herb chicken on a bed of grilled veggies.

Wings & Favorites: 10 Wings with French Fries and your choice of sauce (Hot & Spicy is the crowd favorite) 

Sides: Green Beans or Onion Rings 

Kids: Chicken Tender Basket  – Served with fries and a fountain drink.

THE BAR:

Andy’s Kitchen offers a selection of house wines and various beers. Some local breweries as well. Looking for something more head over to Andy’s Bar and Grill, which offers a full bar with cocktails. 

COMMUNITY:

In addition to running his businesses, Andy is deeply committed to the Cypress community.
He actively supports local schools, first responders, and civic organizations through
donations, volunteer work, and partnerships. His philosophy of treating staff like family
ensures a strong, motivated team that shares his passion for hospitality.

CATERING:

Catering is offered by We Wagon Catering Services. Yelp had the company listed as a  5-star rating, with many customers praising the food and owner Andy. The Knot: They had the company listed as a caterer in Cypress on The Knot, a wedding and event planning site. Catering for a variety of events, including parties, corporate events, and weddings. They have been in business since 1997 and focus on bringing unique global flavors to the Cypress area.  Their catering services provide custom menus for events such as graduations, anniversaries, private parties, birthdays, corporate functions, small gatherings, and weddings. The catering menu has everything from BBQ, Pasta, Italian, Tex-Mex, Cook onsite, Custom-created menus, and much more. A variety of options, from starters and burgers to sandwiches, salads, and healthier choices. They specialize in creating custom menus based on themed style parties or events.

WRAPPING IT ALL UP:

Andy attributes his success to “God, my family, friends, and community. We enjoy being in the Cypress and being a part of this small-town vibe. All my staff are amazing and do a great job.”  Andy is already planning on bringing a third location/concept to the Cypress area. Andy is proud to continue growing his businesses while staying true to the traditions that first inspired him: hard work, family, and serving food that brings people together.
