Looking for Love? 1,600+ Dogs, Cats, Puppies, and KittensCan’t Wait to Meet You at Petco Love Mega Adoption Event
For those looking to ditch the dating apps, expand their family, and adopt pure unconditional love, here’s an event not to be missed. National nonprofit organization Petco Love is hosting a Mega Adoption Event® in Houston, in partnership with Houston-area animal welfare organizations, and sponsors Best Friends Animal Society and Hill’s Pet Nutrition. Participating Houston area shelters and rescue organizations will bring more than 1,600 adoptable pets to the NRG Arena in Houston on August 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the two-day event.
Available pets include big dogs, small dogs, puppies, kittens, adult cats, and senior dogs and cats looking for homes. Adoption fees are just $35 for any pet, which includes spaying/neutering, current vaccinations, and microchipping.
For more than 25 years, Petco Love has been a leader for pets in need, helping to find loving homes for more than 7 million pets and partnering with more than 4,000 animal welfare organizations nationwide. “At Petco Love, we believe love changes everything, and there’s no better example of that than our incredible Mega Adoption Events®, especially our event here in Houston,” said Petco Love President, Susanne Kogut. “These events don’t just find homes for thousands of pets, but they create a lifetime of love for pets and families alike. We’re proud to inspire communities to come together with one goal: to give every pet the loving home they deserve.”
This will be Petco Love’s fifth Mega Adoption Event® in Houston. The first Mega in Houston took place in November 2019, and to date, Petco Love’s Mega Adoption Events® in Houston have found homes for more than 4,500 pets.
“We’re thrilled to join Petco Love at this Mega Adoption Event® to connect our amazing pets with loving families across the Houston area,” said Tegan Coleman-Binter, Director of the Montgomery County Animal Services. “Events like these remind us that the power of community creates a brighter future for pets in need when we come together to save pet lives.”
A limited number of fast passes are available for purchase. Fast passes give potential adopters early access to the event on Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. General admission opens at 10 a.m. Adopters should bring a leash and collar for a dog adoption, a carrier for a cat adoption, a valid ID, and the adoption fee.
The Petco Love Mega Adoption Event® is also a great way to help pets even for those not ready to add a new furry family member to their family. Community volunteers are needed from set up to tear down, and through the duration of the event in a number of roles. Families, friends, individuals, community, and corporate groups are encouraged to register as Mega volunteers.
