MilkShake Factory Opens First Houston-Area Location in Cypress, TX on Saturday, March 7
MilkShake Factory, the neighborhood dessert destination known for its handspun milkshakes and small-batch, premium chocolates, is making its Houston-area debut with the grand opening of its new location in Cypress on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Located at 7040 Elyson Exchange Way, Suite E-100, Cypress, TX 77433, the new shop marks the brand’s first location in the greater Houston market as it continues its expansion across Texas.
To celebrate the milestone, the new MilkShake Factory in Cypress will host a grand opening event on Saturday, March 7 from 12 PM to 4 PM, featuring a buy one, get one free offer on shakes, sundaes, and molten cups, free MilkShake Factory T-shirts for the first 100 customers, a gift basket for the first guest in line, a DJ to kick off the celebration, and plenty of festive energy throughout the afternoon.
The Cypress location is owned and operated by franchise partners Kent and Karen Schultz, who were drawn to MilkShake Factory’s rich heritage and focus on creating memorable, multigenerational experiences.
“We fell in love with the brand’s story right away,” said Kent Schultz. “MilkShake Factory blends old-fashioned hospitality with a premium product, and that combination really resonated with us. We’re proud to introduce the brand to the Houston area and create a place in Cypress where families can gather, relax and make sweet memories together.”

“We were especially drawn to how intentional the brand is about quality, from the housemade ice cream to the handcrafted chocolates,” added Karen Schultz. “With our location facing the central park in Elyson, we can already picture families grabbing a shake, sitting outside and enjoying time together.”
The Cypress shop features a custom milk bottle chandelier in homage to Kent’s family history in the dairy industry dating back to the early 1900s. The couple has also incorporated framed photos honoring their family’s heritage, adding a personal touch to the space. As an end-cap location in the Elyson Town Center development, the store faces a large central park area where families can relax on benches or let their kids play on the turf before or after enjoying a sweet treat.
MilkShake Factory has experienced rapid national growth in recent years, expanding beyond its Pittsburgh roots into new markets across the country. The Cypress opening not only introduces the brand to the Houston area for the first time, but also reflects continued momentum in Texas as MilkShake Factory brings its century-old chocolate-making tradition and signature handspun milkshakes to fast-growing communities across the state.
MilkShake Factory’s menu features an assortment of indulgent milkshake flavors, including fan favorites like Chocolate Dipped Strawberry and Campfire S’mores, alongside handcrafted sundaes, molten chocolate cups, and housemade chocolate treats. Every item is made with MilkShake Factory’s signature ice cream, created fresh in-store daily using the Edwards family’s exclusive recipe.
In addition to their Cypress store, the Schultzes plan to continue growing with the brand, with two additional Houston-area locations in development.
Founded in 1914 as a soda fountain and chocolate shop, MilkShake Factory has evolved into a modern dessert destination while preserving its family recipes and commitment to quality. Every milkshake is made with housemade ice cream and can be customized with premium mix-ins and toppings, while the brand’s chocolates are crafted using time-honored techniques passed down through generations.
