Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux Now Open in Cypress, TX, Marking First-Ever Dockside Service Location
Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, ESPN’s #1 sports bar in America, is proud to announce the successful opening of its newest location in Cypress, Texas, at 9955 Barker Cypress Road. A grand opening celebration took place on Monday, June 8 in the Towne Lake community and featured a series of festivities that highlighted Walk-On’s commitment to community, hospitality and innovation.
Owned by franchisees Brett Gunn and Mickey McKee, the new restaurant combines the high-energy sports atmosphere Walk-On’s is known for with a unique waterfront setting designed to become a gathering place for families, sports fans and the broader Cypress community. The location also features a state-of-the-art sports bar, 55 big-screen televisions, and a spacious outdoor patio and bar overlooking the lake.

The grand opening commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Walk-On’s Founder and CEO Brandon Landry, franchisees Brett Gunn and Mickey McKee, representatives from The Boardwalk at Towne Lake, nonprofit partner Cy-Hope, local student-athletes and various community leaders. The ceremony officially welcomed guests to the newest dining and sports entertainment destination in the Cypress area while previewing the electric, high-energy atmosphere the restaurant will bring to the community each day.
Following the ribbon cutting, local student-athletes burst through a breakaway banner, recreating a beloved gameday tradition and energizing the crowd before the restaurant officially opened its doors. A $5,000 check was also presented to charity partner Cy-Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to making life better for kids, and the first 100 diners were entered into an opportunity to win Walk-On’s for a year.
“This dockside location is a first for our brand, and is exactly the type of environment we envisioned when we started Walk-On’s, bringing people together in unique, high-energy atmospheres that feel like home,” said Brandon Landry, founder and CEO of Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux. “As we open our doors in Cypress, we’re committed to being more than a restaurant but becoming part of the community, building meaningful relationships through local partnerships and supporting the people and organizations that make this area such a special place to live, work and play.”
In addition to celebrating its grand opening, the Cypress restaurant introduces the first-ever dockside service experience in Walk-On’s history. Local boaters have the opportunity to partake in traditional “To-Geaux car-side” service, or pull up directly to the restaurant and enjoy Walk-On’s signature menu from the water.
The location also launched with Happy Hour offerings, weekly specials, a spacious outdoor patio and bar, and the scratch-made Louisiana-inspired menu that has helped make Walk-On’s one of the nation’s fastest-growing sports restaurant brands.
