Wellness Grand Opening Hits Vintage Park This Saturday—Free Sessions All Day
This Saturday, something unexpected is opening in Vintage Park and no, it’s not another brunch spot. Instead, it’s a place where you can float weightlessly under a starlit ceiling, plunge into 39-degree water, or recline under glowing red light while your body does the work of repair.

Altered States Wellness, a vibrant new studio designed for modern recovery and stress relief, opens its doors on Saturday, September 6 at 10 a.m. The public is invited to step inside and explore the space during an open house grand opening event featuring free mini sessions of red light therapy, infrared sauna, cold plunge, and compression boots. The first 50 guests will receive a free gift with purchase, and tours of the studio’s immersive float suites will be offered throughout the day.
The space itself is hard to define, which may be the point. It’s not a traditional spa, and it’s not clinical. Instead, it’s designed to feel like an experience from the moment you walk in. The float rooms don’t resemble tanks or pods, they’re large, walk-in suites with starlit ceilings, ambient lighting, and themes like a salt cave or tranquil jungle. Infrared saunas and cold plunge tubs are housed in private rooms with vitamin C showers and luxe post-session touches. There’s even a recovery space called The Lab, where guests can try red light with PEMF therapy and compression boots.

“There’s a huge need for spaces that help people reset, but also feel good to be in,” said Justin Kennington, franchise owner of the new location. “We wanted to create something that’s both visually immersive and physically restorative. You don’t have to know what red light or float therapy is to feel the difference after you try it.”
Originally launched in North Texas, Altered States Wellness is part of a growing shift in how people are approaching wellness, not just as fitness or luxury, but as recovery. These spaces are less about doing more and more about learning how to step away from overstimulation, even for just an hour.
At the Houston location, the mood is bright, welcoming, and just a little surreal. It’s the kind of place where someone might come in curious and leave feeling like they found something they didn’t know they needed. Learn more at https://www.alteredstateswellness.com/
