Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital Breaks Ground on $277.5 Million Expansion
Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital officially commenced construction on a $277.5 campus expansion project designed to meet the rapidly growing health care needs of our Cypress and Waller communities.
At the heart of the expansion is a new six-story patient tower which will house additional inpatient, surgical, emergency and specialty care services and expand the hospital’s capacity to 201 beds, with the ability to grow to 345 beds at full occupancy.
“Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital is growing alongside our Northwest Houston community, expanding clinical services and specialties to ensure families have access to high-quality care – from everyday needs to advanced treatment – close to home, now and for generations to come,” said Jerry Ashworth, senior vice president & CEO of Memorial Hermann Cypress and Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital.
Key features of the expansion include:
- New six-story patient bed tower housing inpatient services, including TIRR Memorial Hermann inpatient rehabilitation.
- Fifty-two additional beds (12 TIRR inpatient rehab beds and 40 acute care inpatient beds).
- Emergency room expansion, doubling capacity and adding eight dedicated pediatric emergency room beds.
- Four additional operating rooms.
- Women’s Services expansion, including OB emergency department, one OB operating room and neonatal ICU growth.
- One new cath lab/neuro endovascular suite.
- Expansion of the pharmacy, lab, and sterile processing departments.
- Parking garage expansion.
- Renovations to the existing main tower, kitchen, café, and dining areas.
The project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
