Mosaic Park in Creekland Village Now Open for Play

By  |

Cypress, Texas is becoming one of Northwest Houston’s most desirable places to live, and at the center of it all is Bridgeland, developed by Howard Hughes Communities.

One of the reasons people choose to make Bridgeland their home is for the abundance of outdoor amenities. No matter where you live in Bridgeland, you are never more than a quarter mile from a park or green space. This masterful planning incorporates parks of all sizes and differing themes. Currently, residents can choose from more than 70 parks throughout all of Bridgeland.

At the corner of Mulberry Creek and Creekland Village Drive is Mosaic Park – a lively and colorful space that has quickly become a treasured outdoor space in Creekland Village. This park provides hours of fun offering children opportunities to build strength, agility, and good eye-hand coordination. Surrounded by colorful gardens and swaying grasses, the park also offers a calming space for quiet reflection.

“Bridgeland’s master plan includes dedicating 28% to parks and greenspace, said Steve Sams, Senior Vice President, MPC Residential, Howard Hughes Communities. “Our long-term approach of enhancing resident health and well-being by creating outdoor spaces and amenities like Mosaic Park ensures Bridgeland remains a thriving community.”

A rubber fall surface in a brightly colored pattern provides an area for safe play and the meaning for the park’s name. Continuing the theme of the park’s namesake, the pink and yellow muhly grasses presented in the gardens surrounding the play area form a natural mosaic, offering pollinators and other insects a source for food and cover.

A large picnic area under a multitiered roof line offers shade for neighborhood gatherings or enjoying lunch outside. Side panels offer additional interest as changing sunlight throughout the day casts intricate patterns on the surface below.

The park is divided into two sections. One section is designed for younger children ages 2 to 6. Curious young ones will find a two-sided horizontal interactive station with spinners, marbles and a distortion mirror. Active climbers will enjoy a variety of ways to get to the slide that’s just right for them.

A raingarden area separates the two sections, and crossing over a small bridge brings you to another play area where the park features a large rainbow shaped climbing net and additional climbing features sized for older kids, ages 7 to 12.

Numerous moveable Adirondack chairs surround the park offering views of the play area and surrounding gardens, and a tree line offers a buffer from nearby homes. Permanent cornhole boxes, water bottle refill station and bicycle stands are also available at the park.

The first of many new parks that will be coming to Creekland Village, Mosaic Park offers residents another creative space to spend time outdoors. Mosaic Park easily connects to the trail system so you can get here from anywhere. Hop on your bicycle and hit the trail for a day full of colorful fun in Creekland Village.
