CFISD AVP students place in Crime Stoppers School PSA Video Contest
Audio Video Production (AVP) students from Cypress Woods and Jersey Village high schools placed second and third, respectively, in the sixth annual Crime Stoppers of Houston School PSA Video Contest.
The 2024-2025 contest required students to make a public service announcement video with the theme #UnitedNotDivided, educating the public about the seriousness of bullying and cyberbullying.
“We are incredibly proud of our students for earning second place in this year’s Houston Crime Stoppers FBI #UnitedNotDivided video contest,” said Lori Andrade, Cypress Woods AVP teacher. “This marks our fourth year participating and our fourth year placing in the top three. It is always an honor to see the students’ creativity and hard work recognized, especially on such meaningful topics. These projects give our students the chance to create something impactful and relevant for their peers and we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of it.”

Students from both Cypress Woods and Jersey Village were recognized during the PSA Contest Awards Ceremony at the Crime Stoppers of Houston office on May 14. Cypress Woods students each received a Nintendo Switch and Jersey Village students each received an Apple Watch.
“This contest is so valuable for our team because it highlights the important issues each year that need to be addressed for their peers while giving them valuable experience,” said Brandy Milson, Jersey Village AVP teacher. “We love working with Houston Crime Stoppers and helping spread awareness.”
